Seafarers UK receives a warm welcome in Hull
Last week a complement of Seafarers UK staff including Director General Barry Bryant enjoyed the hospitality of the Hull maritime community.
The team attended a highly successful Maritime Welfare Conference and hosted a reception at the Hull Maritime Museum to highlight the valuable welfare work carried out within the local seafaring community, including services and projects supported by Seafarers UK.
Barry Bryant was fortunate to visit Allam Marine and be given a personal tour of the impressive operation by company chairman Dr Assem Allam. During the visit Dr Allam presented a very generous cheque for £15,000 for Seafarers UK’s vital work – supporting those most in need within the maritime community.
Barry Bryant said: ‘On behalf of everyone at Seafarers UK and our beneficiary organisations we are hugely grateful for the continued support of Dr Allam. It is a privilege to have the confidence of such a highly regarded, generous individual and superb company, that exemplifies the strength that still exists in the UK manufacturing sector.’
