This one day Maritime Firearms Competency Course (MFCC) is guaranteed to provide Privately Contracted Armed Security Personnel (PCASP) with all the firearms specific practical and theoretical competence as stipulated by Industry Standards ISO28007, the International Maritime Organisation (MSC Circulars 1405, 1406, 1443) and the International Code of Conduct (ICoC) for Private Security Companies.
The course is aimed at operators of all levels, including first time attendees and those more experienced operators simply wishing to re-validate competence on a refresher course. The training is delivered by thoroughly experienced and qualified instructors and recaps on all the essential weapon handling skills and marksmanship principles to ensure against skill fade and safety precaution knowledge is ever present during operations throughout the High Risk Area (HRA).
Learners should be aware of the practical aspects of the training and the physically demanding nature of some of the exercises.
Learners will be asked to sign a declaration to confirm:
- The do not suffer from any condition physical or mental that would preclude them from using a firearm.
- They do not have a criminal conviction that would preclude them from using a firearm.
- They have not served a period of imprisonment.
