STCW Elementary First Aid (EFA)
Course Duration: 7 hrs
£ 130 + VAT per student
The course includes tea/coffee and complimentary lunch.
This course aims to provide seafarers with the basic knowledge of immediate first aid action to be taken upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency on board ship.
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded an Elementary First Aid certificate, accredited by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA).
STCW Elementary First Aid Learning Objectives:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the types of medical accidents or emergencies which may occur.
- How to raise the alarm.
- identify the probable cause and extent of injuries of a casualty.
- Demonstrate the correct priority and sequence of actions to preserve the life of the casualty.
There are no formal educational requirements to undertake this course, although all participants must be 16 years or over. Some aspects of this course are physically demanding. We therefore require students to complete a physical declaration form.
Candidates are assessed by examination and practical demonstration.
